Vale Heinz, 17 January 2019

Dear Friends of Naturi,

I am very sad to announce that our dear friend Heinz passed away suddenly late on Thursday night, 17 January 2019.

Heinz suffered severe food poisoning, and his condition was then compounded by a heavy fall.

Heinz was due to celebrate his 88th birthday this coming weekend, and was looking forward to spending time with his beloved family and his special friend Pam.

I have personally conveyed the love and concern of the members of Naturi Club to Heinz’s two children, Peter and Maree and to their whole family. Our thoughts are with them all at this difficult time.

UPDATE: The family are hosting a memorial lunch at Heinz’s home at 1pm on Saturday 23 February, 2019. All members of Naturi are welcome to attend.

Heinz was a giant in the naturist community in Australia. He and his late wife Eike generously made  their wonderful property available to naturists for over 50 years, and in so doing brought untold joy and nudist freedom to hundreds of people. Heinz worked tirelessly for his beloved Naturi right up to his last days, lovingly tending the Club pool and overseeing the property, and always welcoming us to share in his special piece of Paradise.

I am very grateful to Peter and Maree for indicating that for the time being, we are allowed to continue to use the Club facilities. Our event on the Australia Day long weekend will therefore be proceeding, albeit with sadness.

Rod x

  1. So sorry to hear of Heinz passing.
I only knew him for a short time but was awed by his energy and commitment to naturism. My condolences to his family and friends.

  2. Hi friends, I have spoken again with the family this morning. It will be a little while yet before the details are confirmed, but there will be a simple gathering at Heinz’s place, rather than a formal religious funeral service, to commemorate Heinz’s life. The family will let me know as soon as this has been worked out so that those who are able to attend can do so. It looks as though Eric will be able to help maintain our pool for us, which is great news. Rod x

  4. Our heartfelt condolences go out to Heinz’s family at this very sad time. His kind and gentle nature was matched only by his steadfast commitment to his family and to the people and causes that were important to him throughout his life. Part of his enduring legacy will surely be the example he left for others to follow.

  6. This is truly unexpected and sad news, Heinz has certainly touched all of our hearts with his love and devotion not only for the members of Naturi, but the wider community, he loved his theatre, classical music & im sure his bush walking club will also be in shock.
Bron & myself would like to extend our condolences to his children and grandchildren at this time for they knew him so much more.
He will be sadly missed by many.
Rod I would encourage you with your skills with the pen to share a dedicated feature of Heinz and his beloved wife, and their Naturi for the next edition of Tan, I believe many of the nudist community will appreciate that.
Personally I will always remember his great giggle!

  7. Deeply saddened to hear of Heinz’s passing. What a wonderful man, a wonderful purposeful life and a catalyst for the members of our club to have met, become friends and have shared such amazing times together. Naturi has been a very important part of Jan & my life since we joined and quite simply Heinz was Naturi.
Unfortunately are currently in Tasmania and can’t attend the meeting ( Jan will be there) but will be thinking of Heinz’s family and my friends at the club.
    Best Wishes,
    Brett
